In October there was a slowdown in sales of electric 100% passenger cars, which rose by only 1.6% year-on-year, due to three main reasons:

  • Several brands postponed sales to early 2020, to be accounted for in the reduction of CO2 emissions, the fines of which will start to be applied in 2021, based on 2020 emissions.
  • Incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles for 2019 have already been exhausted., with many buyers postponing their decision until early 2020 to be covered by the state incentive.
  • Tesla brand diverted some of its production for markets with greater brand weight, with Tesla traditionally grouping sales in the last month of each quarter.
